Barcelona, located on the coast of northeastern Spain, is a city with a rich history and cultural heritage. It is the capital of Catalonia, an autonomous community in the country, and the second most populous municipality in Spain. Home to around 4.8 million people, Barcelona is the fifth most populous urban area in the European Union.
