Hunchun, China

Welcome to Hunchun, a county-level city located in the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture of far eastern Jilin province in China. Hunchun borders North Korea (North Hamgyong province) and Russia (Primorsky Krai) making it a unique destination for adventurous travelers. With over 250,000 inhabitants, this city covers an area of 5,145 square kilometers and has a rich history that dates back to the Balhae Kingdom. The city’s name comes from Huncun in the Manchu language. Visitors can explore the city’s administrative divisions that include four subdistricts, four towns, and five townships. Catch a glimpse of the junction point of the borders of China, Russia, and North Korea in the village of Fangchuan. It is provided with an observation platform and is a popular tourist attraction. The Jilin–Hunchun intercity railway is a high-speed passenger rail line connecting Jilin and Hunchun via Tumen, and it is one of Dongbei’s most beautiful railways.
