History:
Užice has a long and storied history dating back to ancient times. In World War II, Užice was liberated by the Yugoslav Partisans, and it became the capital of the short-lived Republic of Užice. The city saw further changes during the Yugoslav era, when it was renamed Titovo Užice. However, following the collapse of the pro-communist administration, the city reverted to its original name.
