==History==
Sinfra Department was created in 1988 when it split from Bouaflé Department. Originally a first-level subdivision, it was later converted into a second-level subdivision when regions were introduced in 1997. In 2011, the country was reorganized again, with districts becoming the new first-level subdivisions. Sinfra Department remained part of the Marahoué Region in the newly-created Sassandra-Marahoué District.
