Welcome to Japeri, a municipality located in the southeast region of Brazil in the state of Rio de Janeiro. Founded on June 30, 1991, Japeri is a city steeped in history and natural beauty. One of the most notable attractions in Japeri is its location next to the last station of the largest branch of the railroad in Brazil, the Central do Brasil. This railway station was constructed in 1858 and was incorporated into the Central do Brasil in 1903. The station was the first stop for compositions traveling to São Paulo, including the famous Trem de Prata (Silver Train). The city is located at the foot of the Serra do Mar and is surrounded by several rivers such as Guandu, Santana, Rio dos Poços, Rio DOuro, Santo Antonio, Ribeirão das Lages, and São Pedro. In the district of Engenheiro Pedreira, you will find the first public golf course in Brazil, sponsored by FGERJ – Golf Federation of Rio de Janeiro.
